Aster & Page ("we", "us") is the trading name of L Square Enterprise Ltd, the data controller for the personal data you provide through this website. We are registered in England and Wales under company number 15857605, with our registered office at 3rd Floor, 86-90 Paul Street, London, England, United Kingdom, EC2A 4NE. We take your privacy seriously and process personal data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
1. What we collect
- Contact data: your name and email address.
- Order data: order number, quantity, delivery address, phone (optional).
- Owner registration data: when you register your copy, we collect your edition number, name, email address, country, where you bought it, and an optional city. We also record which of the three optional boxes you ticked, and when.
- Payment data: handled directly by Stripe. We do not receive or store your full card details.
- Communications: emails you send us and support requests you submit.
- Technical data: minimal analytics such as page views and referrer.
2. Why we use it (lawful basis)
- To fulfil your order: performance of a contract.
- To send order updates and dispatch notifications: performance of a contract.
- To administer your warranty and owner registration: our legitimate interest in supporting the products we sell, and in keeping an accurate record of who owns each numbered copy.
- To publish your first name and city on the Register of First Edition owners: only if you tick that box. It is a separate, optional choice and we will remove you on request.
- To contact you about sharing a photo or video: only if you tick that box.
- To send optional marketing emails: only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
- To meet our legal obligations: e.g. tax and accounting records.
Warranty registration never depends on any of the optional boxes. You can register your copy with all three left unticked, and we will still honour the warranty.
3. Who we share it with
We share the minimum necessary data with trusted processors: Stripe (payments), our email delivery provider, our fulfilment and shipping partners, our hosting provider, and the measurement and advertising providers named in section 7. We do not sell your data to third parties.
4. International transfers
Some processors are based outside the UK. Where that is the case we rely on UK-approved safeguards such as the International Data Transfer Agreement or adequacy decisions.
5. How long we keep it
Order records are retained for 7 years to meet UK tax law. Owner registration records are retained for as long as we keep the record of the First Edition, because each copy is numbered and the register is part of the edition's history; you can ask us to remove your details at any time. Marketing subscriptions are retained until you unsubscribe. Support conversations are retained for up to 24 months.
6. Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, port and object to our processing of your personal data. To exercise any right, email info@asterandpage.co.uk. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
7. Cookies and measurement
We use strictly necessary cookies to run the checkout session and remember your preferences. We also use measurement and advertising tools, namely Google Analytics, Google Ads and the Meta pixel, which set cookies or similar identifiers to tell us how the site is used and whether our advertising works. You can block or delete these through your browser settings, and you can opt out of personalised advertising through the settings offered by Google and Meta.
